The US Federal Information Processing Standardisation 140 (FIPS) are series of publications which are a U.S. government computer security standards that specify requirements for cryptography modules.
There are 11 areas which are examined, relating to the design and implementation of a cryptographic module, including operating system security, software security, key management, cryptographic algorithms, and self testing.
SafeStick FIPS Edition (now replaced by SafeXs FIPS edition) has successfully undergone FIPS 140-2 testing and was given approval certificate number 1555. |
